Youth Volunteer Opportunities

 Our volunteer positions are a great opportunity for youth in Secondary School to complete mandatory Community Involvement hours and socialize! Read below for a list of current opportunities. At BBNC, we aim to support you in-person but also connect virtually through social media. We are looking for youth who are able to connect with the community through posts on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and etc.

 Requirements:
   – Knowledge in Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, etc.
   – Tech Savvy and creative
   – Aware of current trends

BBNC’s Youth Development Initiative is looking for a group of youth who are interested in working with the community and promoting new programs and initiatives. Your job would be to promote youth programs and events to community centres, schools, and other settings while gaining volunteer hours.

BBNC’s Youth Advisory Council (BBNC YAC) has started a Youth Affinity Group for youth between the ages of 13 to 18. It is an opportunity for like-minded youth to gather and discuss issues regarding the community and topics they are passionate about! Youth can receive volunteer hours from this opportunity as well.

Position: Virtual Tutor

Schedule: Every week on Tuesday and Thursday from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM (Zoom)

At Birchmount Bluffs Neighbourhood Centre (BBNC), we are facilitating a virtual study circle to support youth’s academic needs. We are currently seeking for high school volunteers for the BBNC Study Circle program. We will be choosing tutors based on subjects and the grades of the participants.

   – Volunteer hours will be given for tutoring
   – Gain leadership skills
   – Support and engage with the community
   – Gain work experience for your resume

At BBNC, we offer many programs for toddlers and children. We are looking for youth who are able to help out with EarlyON programming. Your job is to help set up, engage with the children and then clean up. There are also opportunities to facilitate any activities or workshops that are appropriate for the age group.

 At BBNC, we offer programs to promote socialization and engagement for seniors to connect with the community. We are looking for youth who are able to help out with senior programming. This can include creating workshops, supporting the seniors during programming, and helping with set up and clean up.
