How We Work
Share365: Year-Round Community Support
Since 1992, BBNC has offered special programs to support families in need in our Southwest Scarborough community. Currently, through our Share365 program, we assist 200 families / 600 people each month. They receive nutritious fresh fruits and vegetables every month and essential hygiene products throughout the year. Subsidies are also available on many BBNC fitness and wellness and children’s programs.
People we help each month
1/2 of the families have young children aged
0-17
1/3 of the families are singles and most are aged
60+
1/3 of the participants are children aged
0-17
All of the families have incomes falling below — and for many, well below — the Federal Low Income Cut-off (LICO).

Help our neighbours in need
Share365 is funded by community donations and run exclusively by volunteers. In the course of a year, 30+ community residents volunteer their time and talents to support our families.
Here’s how you can help:
- Make a financial donation at canadahelps/bbnc , Select SHARE365 Poverty Reduction Initiative in the FUND dropdown box
- Donate gift cards, such as Costco, PC, Walmart
- Donate hygiene products in high demand: liquid laundry detergent, toilet paper, bar soap, toothpaste, and toothbrushes,
- Volunteer your time and talents
How we help each month
By providing hygiene items along with the fresh produce, Share365 helps families have more of their limited budgets available for food and other necessities.
“Getting fresh veggies and fruits helps my family to stay nourished and eat healthy balanced meals. Some of the produce included can be very expensive at full price and I wouldn’t be able to provide this to my family on my fixed low income… With relieving some of my financial strain, mentally, this helps my family in immeasurable ways.”
